MR D. G. CLARK fPppsn AssortatUmi WELLINGTON, April. 4. The death occurred to-day of Mr D. G. Clark, formerly Commissioner of Taxes. Mr Clark Avas born in Wellington in 1868. He avu-s educated at The Terrace School and Wellington College, and in 18S5 entered the Government service. In 1914 lie was appointed Commissioner of Taxes and from this position retired in 1925. Deceased was the Government officer at the Christchurch Exhibition in 1906. He Avas awaded the 0.8. E. and C.B.E. in 1924. MRS W. T. HAZLETT 'l’rtjßH 4 jiswilsOc'a. INVERCARGILL, April -1. The death occurred somewhat suddenly' this morning of Mrs Hazlett, wife of Air W. T. Hazlett, a prominent racing man and station-holder. Deceased Avas a. daughter of the late Mr John Stephenson, one of tlic founders of Alessrs Wright, Stephenson and Company'. For many yet s she had been prominent in Dunedin, and since her residence here had been identified with many public institutions. She is survived by her husband and family of five

The death has occurred of Air Robert Watson, fer many years a city oouncillor and deputy-Alayor, a member of the, licensing and school committee, a leading Rechaliite, and a member of other .friendly societies. His -five rsons served in the Great War, two being killed. A widow, and one daughter, Airs S. Sellers, AVellington; and three sons, Air W. T. Watson,- Ohio, ILS-A. and- Alessrs Walter and Neel Watson, ‘ Nelson, survive. &
MR, It. W. MACKENZIE. Deepest regret Avill be occasioned by the death yesterday of Mr. Robert Walter Mackenzie, a resident of Gisborne district for many years past. The late' Mr. Mackenzie was horn in Napier Avhcre lie -spent the earlier years of his life. He Avas -still a young man Avhen, with his brother Dudley and. liis mother lie came to this district and took over a property at Otoko. He remained on that station until 1914, and early that year married Miss RoAvena Gambrill, daughter of Mr and Mrs D. W. Gambrill, of 125 Fox street, Gisborne. Returning to Hawke’s Bay, Mr. Mackenzie continued farming ,at 'Hatuina and subsequently at'Waipuknra.it and Taradale. About six or seven years ago ho took over Hikutangi station, Nuhaka, and had resided there ever since. Mr. Mackenzie Avas of a. quiet and genial nature and much respected. His father died Avheti lie Avas but a lad and his brother was drowned at Otoko some years ago. He is -survived; however, by his Avidrnv, one son, Master A. B. Mackenzie, and one daughter,’Miss M. Mackenzie, all of Nuhaka. His mother, and one sister, Mrs. Hannon, reside in Auckland. The funeral Avill leave the residence cof Mr. D. W. Gambrill, 12-3 Fox street-,at. 2.30 p.m, to-day for TaruJieru cemetery.
