Lord LyttorPs mission was n. failure, They could not expect Jap-an to leave Manchukuo to fall into the hands of Russia. Japan had transformed this no-man’s land into n civilised .State to the world's benefit. Lord Leamington said that this was a favorable moment for Britain. .lanon and The United States to seek an agreement respecting the Pacific. Lord Lothian said there was no ch-nnee of a lasting pence in the Far East unless the principles of the Washington Treaty were fundamentally observed. Lord Stanhope said that Britain had consulted r: 11 the interested Powers regarding her actions- in China.
