An aeroplane which, its designer believes will have a speed of 350 miles an hour is under construction in Boston. Its designer is Mr Arthur AMjealf, instructor Hr aeronautical design at Boston University.

“So. far.” he said, when interviewed by te ephone, “my design is in the wind-tunnel stage, and I do not wish people to get excited about it. “While my design is naturally a secret, 1 can say that it- is based partly on. tliin cantilever wings. The machine is a sing e-seater with a cruising range of 600 miles, and we are also studying high-powered engines suitable for the new craft.’
