ROSE SHOW.

FINE DISPLAY IN CITY HALL A wonderful display of rose s aud other flowers was provided at the City Hall on Saturday when the Poverty Bay Horticultural Society held its annual rose show. Entries constituted a record and! the quality of the blooms was exceptionally high. The public attended in good numbers and the president, Mr C. 0. Hansen, and the lion, secretary, Mr R. A. Berge ) were warmly congratulated on the’ success 1 achieved. The judges were Messrs E. E. Calcott (roses), R. G. Craiwtord (cut flowers) and S. Tate (decorative), while the steward's were Miss Molly Bull, Messrs H. G. Wcllborne, G. T. Maunder, and G. R. A. Whiting. Mrs R. G. Crawford exhibited some wonderful blooms and 'Secured both premier bloom awards, as (well an the championship award. The premier hybrid tea was a tine specimen of Mrs Charles Lamplougli and the premier Pemetiana was a Julien Poten. The former premier bloom" was also selected us champion.
