“RED WAGON” COLOURFUL STORY OF CIRCUS LIFE

The Uves, loves, and hates of circuspeople are depicted graphically in “The Red Wagon” which was cnthusiastiealiy received at all sessions on Salurdav. From the point of view of acting, presentation and theme there is much to commend the picture. There is a strong cast which includes Charles Bickford, Raqucl Torres amd Greta Nissen. Left an orphan at an early ago. Joe Prince, who lias the circus blood in his veins, joins a travelling show in England.' By perseverance and hard work he rises to the star act, and on the death of the ”boss” who lias more or less fathered him, lie becomes proprietor of the circus. Falling in love with the pretty star of a tiger-taming ace, he is betrayed by his best friend, and marries a beautiful gipsy girl om the rebound. Then tho trouble starts. Being a gipsy bis wife is not accepted by. the circus folk. She clears off with her lover and her husband’s money. Real ising that he cannot carry on, be sells the circus to his rival and bids farewell to all. his friends. AVhen he arrives in London a proposition is put to him to stage an equestrian act with a pretty girl. After much hesitation he agrees, finds she is the girl whom lie had loved when at the height of liis career. The picture filled with the romance and glamour of tile sawdust rilig and is crow-d----ed with incident. The supporting programme includes “Pus s in Boots” a new colored cartoon; “Mrs Barnacle Bill” a comedy, and “The Big Idea”, a musical. The Box Plans open today for “Riptide” starring Norma Shearer, Robert Montgomery, Herbert Marfc>'h|3(d and Airs 'Patrick Campbell which commences next, Saturday.
