As a sequel to the publication at a pamphlet entitled * McArthur Strikes Back at Coates and tli° Kelly Gang,” Maurice' Vincent Bates Auckland manager of the investment Executive Trust of New Zealand, Limited, was changed in the otic© Court with dispersing, and also with publishing a pamphlet m which the place o!; abode of the printer was not stated. H© pleaded guilty.

The police said that over 1500 pamphlets had been printed. Bates said they had been printed on instruction's. from Australia. The printer had been prosecuted on similar charges at Wellington.

Counsel said the offences w c re only technical. The defendgm had relied on tbo printer, who said ho thought the printing of the firm’s name w:Us sufficient.
