Nov. 9The Presbyterian Assembly considered a resolution from the Auckland presbytery recommencing that an official statement should be prepared making clear the church’s position with regard to British Israel ism, this resolution proceeding from an Auckland petitioner’s request for a full investigation of the claims that the Angfev-Siixon people are God’s ancient people of Israel. It was finally Tesolved to appoint a committee to prepare a resolution •reporting to a later sederunt of The assembly f hut there was considerable discussion. The Rev. James Millie mentioned the desirability of toleration, and the assembly clerk said the church was prepared to tolerate the views of these people, hut. were they prepared to tolerate the church's views? Tbo Rev. Steele (Duntroon) declared that it would be regrettable if tin impression were given that the church, regarded British Israelis in an a serious danger.
