Ait. the conclusion; of tho meeting tho following •statement, wag. issued: “The action of the Common-wealthi authorities in refusing to. allow G era Id Griffin to land in Australia was considered, and iti wan decided, that strong representations be.'made to the New Zealand Government. The executive -way unanimous in its condemnation of tho treatment accorded to Griffin, and will urge tlie Government to demand' an explanation- from the Commonwealth Government, together with adequate reparation and compensation for Griffin. The setting up of an education test in the Dutch language was considered most unfair,. and the refusal! to .allow N«w Zealand citizen's to land in Australia, on such pretext is an outrage -on the freedam of the individual, and is consideretf to endanger the good relations which have hitherto existed between the two countries.”
