The nett proceeds or the clock art union (£BS 10s 6d) bring the total to £771 9s 4d. According to a statement of commitments and receipts prepared by the committee, the, position of the fund now is as follows:

Receipts: Donations as apoye £771 8s 4d, Government building subsidy £43 9s 2d, balance required £l4 lls 9d.—Total £829 10s 3d.

Commitments: Erecting towet(Reynolds’ contract) £44c ids, elec trieal mechanism (Littlejohn’s contract) £354 ss, labour and material supplied by the Borough Council £2O 15s 3d.—Total £829 10s 3d.
