TRADE WITH BRITAIN
POLES NEGOTIATING TREATY
(U.P.A. by Elec. Tel. Copyright)
(Received March 12, 11 p.m.)
LONDON, March 12
The Daily Telegraph’s Warsaw correspondent says that the British mission is satisfied with the progress of the Anglo-Polish trade negotiations.
The chief differences in viewpoints is that the Poles desire their imports from the Dominions and colonies which are chiefly tea, coffee, spices, wool and rubber to rank for calculation in the trade balance as goods imported from the United Kingdom. But, there is little likelihood of the British mission accepting this. The Poles also are desirous that invisible exports, such as inteiest on loans to Poland, should also be taken into consideration.
It would be to the advantage of Britain’ as many Polish manufacturers are of Jewish origin and have a rooted objection to dealing with Nazi Germany.
