Lyons informed a. deputation that the 'Government realised the necessity of assisting the wheat industry, and 1 the imposition of a. sales tax on flour might be the best way of assisting wheatgrciwers. No Government could continue granting subsidies year after year to wheat and other industries as had been done in the past.-
