REGENT

“SECRET OF THE BLUE ROOM.” A drama of mystery containing many moments of suspense is screened in “Secrets of the Blue Room.” One of the chief features in this logical yet thrilling story of a, mysterious legend -surrounding a Blue Room in a private castle is the manner in which speculation regarding the murderer is maintained until the last moments of the play. As the charming daughter of the house, on the eve r 't her twenty-first birthday when the play opens Gloria Stuart’s s w eet grace and varied talents cast a spo” of fascination over the audience. There are three who admire her. and these characters are played by Paul Lukas, Edward Arnold and Onslow Stevens, Lionel Atwi!| is convincing in the role of Gloria’s father. There are many in the household who are more or less concerned in the succession of tragedies which occur, and evidence points to most, of them who could he classed as guilty 0 f the crime committed. Opening on the night of a twenty-first birthday party, the story loads the play e r s immediately into the meshes of an inexplicable disappearance, to be. followed up tli e next night by the murder of a journalist. The police ai-e notified and a cross-examination o* each member of the household is held. Chauffeur, maid, cook, butler, and even the master of the household are interrogated. For the third evening a trap is carefully prepared and a thrilling climax follows. The supporting programme includes a, Gleesoa comedy, a Pooch Cartoon and -newsreels. To-morrow Jean Harlow and Clark Gable, stars of “Red Dust”, are together again in “Hohl Hour Man”.
