BOARD’S MONTHLY MEETING

Cook Hospital affairs were dealt with at the monthly meeting of the board yesterday, when Mr M.. T. Tr afford! presided, ovei; the following: Airs A. E.ißeer, Messrs G. B. Oman, F. O Leggett, C.- G., Rayliss, H. Keniway, Jl Tomb'leson, H. Adair, H. J. F. Tombieson and Dr J. O. Collins.

Accounts amounting to £3481, Os 2d were passed for payment.

■ Sister Burgess, ’ Native- district nurse, Te : -K-araka, reported having treated and advised. 43 European and 65 Maori patients dhring the month. , She visited 7 pa.s find 7 schools.

Sister Pritchard, district nuree, Maitawai, reported having treated and advised .52 patients during the month and! that she paid 57 visits She conveyed 2 patients to hospital by car. The custodian of the Memorial Home, Mr R. C. Vigils, reported that during the month of Seutember one woman and one man were transferred from hospital and "two men Mb of their own accord, leaving 67, 8 women and 49 men, in the home at;the end of the month. Vegetables to the amount of £9 . 45.9 d were supplied to- Hie hospital during September and ,8. sacks of r.ed beet .to the relief depot. Tho usual kindly visits were . paid .by the Salvation Army Band,, and different denominations, who.held their meetings with the inmates; The visiting committee reported having visited the Memorial Homo and hospital buildings, and found everything in good order. They suggested that tffc tank at the- 'Memorial Homo bo erected as soon as possible ais water may be required for the young plants now being put out. The maternity home report intimated that 11 patients and 1 two babies were admitted during last month and eight babies were horn. Fees received amounted to £59 5s and the amount paid was £l9 14s 6d. The reports were adopted.
