POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION

A mooting of tho executive of the Poverty Bay Hockey" Association was held last evening, Mr Sim presiding over the following delegates: Messrs G. Corbett, M. Pere, I. Pore, J. McLean, C. Davy, G. Graham, J. Henderson, W. Bullivant. G. File, G, Ingram, A. Campbell, and the lion- soc. (Air T. Smale).

The Wairoa sub-association wrote seeking affiliation with tho Poverty Bay Association, and the chairman was ’instructed to reply when the correct course iwa,s ascertained. A challenge for -the Lady Carroll Shiold was received from the Taraatca Association. —Tho lion. sec. was instructed to forward it on £0 the holders, the Ruabinc Association.

Messrs Tamili ana, Greig, and Smale were appointed to tho ladies’ representative team.

It was decided to run the usual sevon-a-sido tournament on Juno 3. yNom'inations were received from the following beams: Men’s senior, Defence (2), Foresters (3), Waituhi (2), Y.M.P. (2). and two junior teams. In the ladies’ competition, nominations were. received from Waituli’i (2), Karaka (2), K'ia Ton,. Furtlrer entries will lie received up till Thursday, June I. Tho entrance feo of one shilling for each man player, and sixpence per lady player, must ho paid to the captain of the team before 'the first game in which tl:i> team plays. The following committee was appointed to draw up the games and control tlie tournament: The chairman and Messrs Henderson, Cassin,' Graham, -Tamibaua, and the hon. secretary.

Permission was granted the Y.Af.C.A. senior team to travel to Hastings on June 3 and take part in the tournament there. A discussion took place on the distribution of funds raised for travelling representative teams. It was decided to pool all such funds raised bv the association and to allocate the money as the association thinks fit.

Mr Bullivant raised the question of a challenge for the Lady Can-oil Shield. The lion. sec. was instructed io forward the challenge on to Ruahine.
