GISBORNE A.A. AND H-€. EXECUTIVE MEETING. Several important matters tivo to the club’s "'inter activities were discussed at the recent ex ecu tive meeting of the G-A.A. and 11. C. Those present included Ala*. C. AleCoy (chairman) and Alcssrs. G. Quinn. 4V. Wildish, J. Algie. J. Primrose. F. AlcDonald and J. EAJoreer (hon. sec.). Tho possibility of an interchange of visits with Hie Auckland Technical Old Boys’ Harriers was favourably commented upon, and the seeretarv " as instructed to finalise matters in this direction.—The chairman expressed tho hope that a strong team would be available in Gisborne. It was decided to write to U.c P.B. Hockey Association pointing out the position regarding - the lease of the Reserve. Tho special sub-committee tablet, a report in connection with the social club rooms, and it was decided to open same with a social evening. The course for the first of a series of hoys’ cycle races was mapped out to start at tlm corner of Chib dors road and Disraeli: street, pro coed up Childers road to Chalmers road, and return via Chalmal's road, Gladstone read, L.yttou road ued Childers road to the starting point Tho cycle road race for the AleGorty Cup will Start from the Wi Pere street-Orinoud road intcsocfciou at 10,15 a.lll. on June 3, and tlw boys’ race will start alter the con elusion of the McGerty Cup fixture. Tho harriers’ .race to the abattoirs and back will also start from the Reserve at 10.30 a.m.

The secretary reported having received numerous inquiries from par. outs of hoys regarding the interpretation of the rule: relating to amateurs. It Avas pointed out- that any buy who competed under the control of t a profeissionoj body automatically became a professional, and he would not he able to take part *in amateur track and field events, SAvimming events, inter-club rowing, tennis fixtures and . numerous other branches of sport.

Entries for the June 3 (King’s Birthday) fixtures close with Mr. C. E. BroAvn -on .-Wednesday, 31st' May, at, 5.30 p.n'i.U Post entries will ho taken for the h’ov.s’ cycle race. The possibility: of the establishment of annual /inter-chub : fixtures between’ the’. Napfer and yGisbornn clubs for both "cyclists and -runners was discussed with interest, - and it was hoped-to have ' a definite statement 'to make at the next meeting.
