OPENING OF NEW BRIDGE

A meeting will be held this morning to decide whether the opening of the new bridge shall or shall not be postponed. It is understood that the Mayor (Air. Harker) is not in favour of a postponement.

SLIPS IN AIATAHOTJR A GORGE. It was still raining this (Sunday) evening. The roads- about Wairoa are not seriously ; damaged. There are, however, some slips in the Matahoura Gorge.
