“Simply suicide,” commented the counties traffic inspector, Mr. \Y r . JI. Scott, in outlining the case against a Maori named George Mihaka, who appeared in the Police Court yesterday on two informations:' (1) With driving a car without being the holder of a license; and (2), with operating a ear w. out proper brakes. The presiding Justices wore Messrs. T. Mirfiekl nnu C. Blackburn. Defendant admitted the offence 0 . Mr. Scott said that on' Saturday last defendant was stopped bn the main highway afUl asked to show ms license, but could nob produce d. It was then found ’ that defendant had. eight adults and three children jammed in the car. The inspector - eaid it was not defendant he was ■worrying about, but other users of the road-, and he suggested that no license . should be granted, defendant for : sii- months. Defendant had passed'. through the streets or the 'town; • crossing busy intersections. . and with .a . car in that condition and an unlicensed driver, what hope was Ifiieto for anyone he met- at the intersections?: It was simply suicide The car needed a complete overhaul. The chairman of the bench, Mr. Mirfieid, paid the offences were- most serious, and in driving, a car without Quakes? defendant ‘might find himself before the court on charges
