BUTTER FOR BRITAIN
DOMINIONS STILL AYvAIT PROPOSALS.
GOVERNMENT HESITANT
(U.P.A. b- Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received May 24, 7.55 p.m.) LONDON, May 2-1.
New Zealand’s reply has been received, accepting Britain’s milk restriction proposals. Australia’s answer is awaited. The restrictions are insignificant at present, being limited to three months and arc unlikely to affect the exports from Australia and New Zealand. The Dominions still seek Britain’s butter and cheese proposals, but the Government seems unable to make up its mind, despite the Dominions consultations, while those clamouring for protection for Home growers resultlessly press Major Elliot in ihe Bouse of Commons. .
