As tho result of the- recommendation of the Calf Club committee presented to the meeting of .t-ho A. and R. Association o-n Saturday, it was decided.to encourage members of such •"clubs by placing a special class on the show programme this year. The report of., the sub-committee, which was adopted by the association, stated that Mr. H. G. Lockhart, who had attended the mooting, explained the work' that, he was carrying- on in the • schools of- the district; For. the 1932 season, 240 pupils of thirteen schools had reared and exhibited calves. He suggested,that the- association should encourage children to look after calves until they become yearlings ..by,-, providing classes at the show.—Ori the, motion, of; Mr. ; C. GBlooro, seconded by Mr. J. T. Bell, it had been decided that; a class - bo provided .at tho show fro: a yearling h<?ifer of any breed ; exhibited -in a- school:..,.calf,. parade,,in, Gisborne or tho surrounding..district, the* yearling to be led into the judging, T ing by :thq:chiid Yho- 'had reared and exhibited it.
