As the train was entering a tunnel they secured the greater part of the money, then pulled the communication cord, and left thto train, at the exit fi the tunnel and leapt into a waiting motor car. The police fired from the train, and the bandits and confederates, stationed near the iuucl mouth, replied; inuring four passeugers. Tire bandits all escaped.

A mild sensation was caused in a Queen street theatre at about H o’clock last, night, when a drunken seafaring man brandished an automatic pistol. To-day the man concerned, Joseph Spinner, 21, admitted drunkenness and possession of. an unlawful
weapon. The police saiuidi.e "'as very drunk and there was no ammunition in the pistol.
. The accused said he did not remember where he obtained the pistol. Tho magistrate lined him £2 ss, and ordered the pistol to lie ioriented.
