OPERA HOUSE TO-MORROW NIGHT.
In a, critique of John Brownlee, who will bo heard for the first and only tiiid in Gisborne to-morrow night at the Opera House, Melbourne “Table Talk” said:—“His voice of beautiful, vibrant, is used with consumate art. Not only is tlio production as near to perfection as is humanly possible, and so effortless that it is a delight to hear, hut- it is treated as a perfect instrument and employed to give the most delicate graduations of tonal colour and expression. Every note is clearly (articulated, so that no phrase is ever allowed to lose one iota of its
beauty. At to-morrow's concert Mr Brownlee will include the prologue from “I Pagliaeci;’’ (Leoncavallo) among Ins operatic'numbers, and the duet from “Rigoletto”!’(in which the baritone will be associated with-‘Miss Rita’‘Mi llcrj will be another operatic offering. “Come,'Let’s be Merry.” and Ihe Jolly Tinker”.iwill be the Old English songs on'the programme, and Mr Brownlee’s modern English numbers will include “Sea Fever” / John Ireland) '“Live Eyes” (f™ istl ,° f Gibbs) y,“H I Were King Tipton) and “Route Marchm^ (Stocks Miss Rata Miller • the Pol acca from ‘ ‘Mignon, ; My.
