PAPATOETOE WOMAN’S END. man sentenced to fifteen Years. Pro?-' Association ' AUCKLAND, May 16 Thomas Francis Clark, 33, a laborer, who was charged with the murder of Airs. Bennett, at Papatoctoe, but was found guilty of. manslaughter was sentenced to-day by Mr. Justice Smith. His Honor said the jury must have taken the view that there was a contract of marriage between the accused and Airs. Bennett, and also that when lie. looked into the bedroom and saw her sharing a bed with another man, ho lost 'Us power, of control and 1 committed tho act in a. fit -of passion. However, human life must not be taken in that y-ay. He regarded the offence as verv serious. The sentence of 'the court would bo imprisonment with hard labor for 16 years.
