FIRE AT BUSHMERE
Mil D. BROOKER’S HOME DESTROYED Starting from some unascertained cat?[so, fire completely destroyed Mr D. Brookcr’s hoUso at Bushmere yesterday morning. Mr Brookcr rose a.-, usual L't the fire, made some tea and then went.outside to the milkiing shed. His wife and) three daughters, meantime, were in-bed. The blaze appeared to start at the' rear of the house, and it had) obtasnejci a strong bold, mainly in the piling, beforei Mrs Brookcr and her daughters became aware of the outbreak. So little time had they to make their escape that they had to rush outside in their night attire. Neighbours quickly arrived on the saene and a piano, insured for £l4O together' with a small quantity oi furniture, was removed. Tho house and all other of its contents, were completely burned. A policy for £775-tin the Sun. .office was held over the house, and the ut nitiire, including (the pjiano, covered by a policy for £465 in * 6 State office.
