‘‘SIGN OF FOUR”
All lovers ui' the amazing adventures ol‘ Sherlock Holmes, the famous character of fiction created by the late. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, will be eager to see ‘‘The Bign of Four” which heads the present programme at the Regent Theatre. The film, tells the story of Jonathan Small, a convict on the Andaman Islands, who reveal the whereabouts of a hoard pi jewels to the governor of the settle, meat and his subordinate. The governor decamps with the jewels and .Jonathan Small, years alter, succeeds in finding him and has vengeance on his betrayer. The task of finding the murderer falls to Sherlock Holmes, a part taken with startling realism by Arthur Wontner. A fine portrayal of the convict comes from Ben Soutten, while lan Hunter appears as Dr Watson. There is a good array of short suubjects which make up a very entertaining programme.
To-morrow’s star picture is ‘LABurnt Offering” which stars Elissa Landi. It is said to be an exceptionally strong ' attraction.
