AN ATHLETIC DISPUTE

(To the Editor.;

Sir, —I wish to correct- the statement, made by “Old Timer” in your issue of January 21, that T. G. Broadway is the holder of the New Zealand half.milo record j with a time of Imin 56 2-ssee. The record for this distance stands to th e credit- of Don Evans (Taihape) who, in defeating R. Kiser (U.S.A-) at Wanganui, 1931, registered the splendid time oi Imin. 54 4-ssec. This time, I may add, is the best upon record for Australasia.

Also, would “Old Timer kindly inform his circle of readers, upon what date .Broadway registered the performance at New Plymouth, which he (‘‘Old Timer”) has attributed to him. —I am. Yours etc., B. R, OGG.
