OFFENDERS FINED
Several breaches of , motoring regulations and by-laws resulted in, the appearaiice of the defendants (before the Magistrate,R. H. Harper, in the Police Court yesterday. Mafeking Pere and Robert John Farrell, being owners of cars, iyere each charged (with permitting such cars to he used in a public place, Lowe street on Doc. 23, without having the assigned number plate affixed to each car.— Senior-Sergeant Wade said that Farrell had> good number plates but a poor car, and Pere had a good car but no number plates, so they therefore exchanged the plates.—The magistrate said that to take the plates off., one car and affix them' to the another was regarded aig serious under the ’Act. As, however, the defendants; did not .apparently realise this, he, .would not inflict a heavy, fine. Each defendant was convicted and fined £1 a'ffd costs 10s. ; .

Herbert Thomas Reynolds, charged that on December 26 being the driver of a car at the intersection of Lowe street and Gladstone road, Tip failed to keep ito tike left of 'tho traffic domo, was couvicted and fined 10s and costs ■ 10s.
