Mr. F. Metiers, chairman of tlic Citrus Council of Australia, declared that the Now Zealand embargo constituted the most serious setback tbe citrus growers had suffered in ,recent years. It would mean that 300,000 .bushels of citrus'fruits would have to bo diverted to ‘the local markets, which were usually- glutted. ■V. \. ADDINGTON YARDS LITTLE CHANGE IN PRICES SLIGHT RISE IN FAT LAMBS AND EWES 'Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Jau. 18. Values at Addington market showed little change. The fat lamb and ewe .schedule for export improved during tho week, and this was reflected in slightly better prices in those sections. Store sheep.—Stores for the most part comprised lambs. Forward sorts sold better. Forward m.s. made 9s to 10s G/d ; medium m.s. 7 S 3d to 8s 9d ; ordinary 6s to 7s; cull 4s 6d to 5s S'd; wether lambs 5s 9d to 6s. Fat lambs.—43oo were penned. The host brought d, with 1 37-412hs. and seconds to id. The best made to 16s, prime 13s dd to 1-ls dd ; others th; Gd to 12s 6d. Fat sheep.—There was a. smaller entry, and better prices for ewes, with wethers firm at last week’s rates Best wethers sold at 3Jd, and ewes l£-d per lb. Extra prime heavy wethers made to Ids 7d, prime heavy 14s to 15s; medium weight 12s to 13s dd: ordinary 10s Gd to Us 6d ; light <Bs dd to- ].os; show ewes to 15s Id : extra prime heavy to 13* dd ; prime heavy 10s to 11s dd; medium weight? prime 8s to 9s Gd :. ordinary 7s to 8s ; light ewes os to G s 9d.
