Dio recent agreement by Canada and the 'British Goverment to advance to the Newfoundland Government the necessary funds to meet' interest charges on the colony’s debt due this mouth, has revived a discussion here on the possibility of an ultimate merger with Canada. A number of factors are regarded as iikeiy to pave the way for a merger. One is a report of auriferous formation • in Newfoundland and Labrador.
