OUR READERS’ OPINIONS

FOOTPATH TRAFFIC

(To the. Editor.) Sir, —I am indeed glad to see that attention has at last boon .drawn to tins annoying state of affairs in Gladstone road - on Saturday afternoons. Between clogs, perambulators, and children it is almost, impossible to got along and one is porlorce driven on to the"road at, the risk of being killed by an “infernal. machine”, commonly called a motor-bike.* If the police would give a little more attention to the traffic, both vehicular and pedestrian, and leave the hotels alone for a bit they would gain a little more esteem from the general public. It is hard enough to be a prisoner in this Little town,, when* there is neither train- service or shipping, without these minor inconveniences— I am, Yours etc., “MIDDLE OF THE ROAD”
