The Bench said they did not believe a word of his stow and convicted and. discharged him on the first charge. On the second charge, ho was convicted and sentenced to six weeks’ imprisonment- m Mount Fden. An application for suppression of his name was refused. bowling. WEDDING. MONTGOMERY—JEER. •The. Kutarere. Methodist Church was '• 'stefuliy decorated on December 29 for the wedding of Amv Beatrice, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. j. p° Jurd, of Kutarere, to Vincent Montgomery, youngest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Thomas Montgomery, of Mititai, Northern Wairoa. The Rev. G. R. Harris, of Opotiki, performed the ceremony. Mrs. Holmes presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away b 3’ her father,’wore a frock of ivory georgette with lace inset in the skirt and at the neck, and a coatee, of the same material. Her tulle veil which formed a train was arranged on the head with orange blossom, and her bouquet was of white Christmas lilies and gvpsophila. In attendance ns bridesmaids were Miss Gertie Jurd and Miss Janet P.oss, who were similarly gowned in green and pink floral georgette and wore pink and green felt pictuie bats. They carried bouquets of pink carnations ‘and Igypsophilft. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. R. Montgomery as best man and b v Mr V. Cox as groomsman. Tile wedding luncheon was served at the home of the bride, the bride’s mother receiving her guests in a black frock, with hat to match and feather boa. Her bouquet was of red carnations and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom’s mother wore a black crcpc de chine frock with black felt hat and carried a bouquet ol rnauve Michaelmas daisies. The happy couple left for the wedding tour in the afternoon, the bride wearing a turquoise blue ensemble and hat to tone.
