A London-cablegram announces tho death of Air. Haniwell Sutcliffe, the well-known novelist, aged 62 years; and Air. Walter Spencer-Stanhope Tyrwhitt. aged 73 years, who specialised in water-color work.

The Senate of the University or New Zealand, meeting , in Dunedin -Yesterday, awarded the -Unold Atkinson Prize to Francis Howard Harris, cf Otago University. This prize is awarded, every two years for an essay with reference to the history, constitution, or development of the British Empire. The Senate‘ awarded the Habens Prize to Eric K.
