The Governor, Sir Phillip Game, says ho acted on his own responsibility in making the Legislative Council appointments, and had informed the Dominions Office subsequently. Tho new Legislative Council appointees will be sworn in to-day. It is officially announced on behalf of tho Government that' it did not propose to reintroduce the 5s in the pound salaries tax, which was rejected by the Council. There will be introduced shortly a Transport Monopoly Bill, which will. aboli|h the Railway Commission and other transport bodies and create complete Ministerial control. NEW GUARD WANT PARLIAMENT DISSOLVED. ALLEGED CONTINUED DISLOYAL ACTS. (U.P.A. (,v Klee. 'To! fopj-r'glit.' (Received Nov. 23, 9.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 28. The Governor, Sir Phiiip Game, today received a petition'from the New Guard, asking him to dissolve the Legislative Assembly on the : grounds that the people of New- South Wales are very apprehensive because of the continued disloyal act 3 and utterances, and because the Premier and his Ministers no longer retain the confidence of the people. The Governor agreed to give his answer to-morrow. GRAVE CONSEQUENCES PREDICTED. (UFA. by Elec-. Te! Copxrigbtl (Received Nov. 23, 11.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 23. The Governor to-day administered the oath to twenty-five new members of the Legislative Council. The newspapers continue to attack the Lang administration in the bitter, est fashion and predict grave economic and industrial consequences as the result of the Governor’s change of front.
