(U.P.A. by Elec. Tel Copyrizbt) LONDON, Feb. 24. The Times Riga correspondent reports the celebration of- the thirteenth anniversary of the red army and also a prolongation of the militarist agitation which began in January in connection with the birthday of M. Voroshiloff, Commissar of the Red Army. The Soviet has organised a more intensive anti-foreign campaign. Wireless stations started operations yesterday, broadcasting a message to workers throughout Soviet Russia, declaring: “War is inevitable. Capitalist governments are feverishly preparing for an invasion of Russia under General Weygand, whom the French Government already has selected as command-in-chief in tho coining war, in preparation for which, it recently promoted him to command th 0 French forces.” Ail hour later the message was repeated with the addition that “General Weygand’s is considered a most suitable appointment owing to his close- personal touch with the Polish and Rumanian armies in the past 10 years. He participated in the Rus-so-Pplisli war in 1920-
Tho message added: “War might break out any day. The workers must accelerate the five-year plan to a maximum, because-the Soviet wants factories and laboratories to fight tho enemy, and the products of agriculture to feed the.army. The motor industry must especially be accelerated owing to the great part tractors, tanks, and aeroplanes play in modern war.”
Tlie platform, press, cinema and, wireless are all mobilised to carry on the agitation. Military experts are visiting schools throughout the Soviet' to report on the efficiency of military instruction and training in them.
M. Pionarchskv, tho Soviet’s disarmament delegate to Geneva, issued a statement congratulating 31. Meierhold, who organised the campaign.
