SUMMER SHOW

FINE EXHIBITS AT TOE OM ARC BAY.

The Horticultural Society's _ summer show," held on Wednesday in the Te Pulta Hall, was ouite a success, despite the disadvantages to growers of the very dry and windy weather during the past two months. The various flower sections were very fine and competition for the trophies and special prizes in their connectmn very keen and close. The vegetalffe section received the' biggest' setback in this unusual season, but the judge, in his comments, stated that the potatoes shown bv Airs. W. Oates were among the finest lie_ had ever seen in any display for this time of tlie year. 'There was a very fair attendance, both in the afternoon and evening.
