The Republican Party of New York State has nominated Air Charles Tuttle, a former United States Attorney-General, as its candidate for Governor, on a. platform demanding the repeal of the prohibition law. ■ ' The platform was written to meet Air Tuttle’s demand for such a declaration, and its adoption and ‘his nomination transform the Republicans from a “dry” to a “wet” organisation in New York State. The “wets” hailed the event as one of the most important developments for years, and predict that it will have a far-reacliiug effect.
