OVERCOME BY CHEERS.

The job of being New York's Mayor ha.s been getting steadily tougher, with the result that Jimmy Walker, built quite a reputation for always being late at such functions as cor-ner-stone laying, tree planting, and first-ball throwing. At last, however, along came the robot man, ■John Te'evox. with a proposal that lie would substitute for the Mayor on these occasions.
It was a complete success to-day, when Jimmy, socking to avoid a trip to Staten island, 'phoned Televox to open the Seaside Hospital for 'Children.
Televox answered the -'phone', imbed asidg the entrance Hag and acknowledged the hearty applause. Overcome bv the cheers, however, ho fell over sideways and the General F'cetriY- Co.'s repaiv man lmstilv assisted him to- regain his equilibrium.
