WAIOEKA DOAIAIN BOARD
(Special To Tile Times). OPOTIKI, May 31. At tho annual meeting of the Waioeka Domain Board held last night, Mr F. J. Short was re-elected chairman. Tho annual report showed that £473 3s 4d had been expended in new works, mainly in improvements to buildings, erecting refreshment booth, additions to stands, etc. The racecourse reserve was now in excellent order for the holding of race meetings, sports meetings, etc., and the hoard does not contemplate incurring any considerable expenditure during thp forthcoming year.
NEW GOLF CLUB AT TANEATUA
At a meeting at Tancatua, it- was decided to form a golf club, twenty intending members handing in their names. Officers were elected as follow: —President. Air T. E. Hamertoii; vice-president, Mr M. C. Peebles: committee, Airs AlcDonnell, Aiiss B. Peebles, Alessrs C. J. Rogers. H. J. Lynch, B. J. AlcDonnell. The president and vice-president undeitook to carry out temporarily secretarial work. Subscriptions were fixed at 25s for men and 10s for ladies. The dub has decided to lay out a niueholo course on the property of :Mr: T. Garlick, Puketi. Mr Garliek having granted the club free playing rights for this season. A course has been laid out, and greens cut and fenced, and it is proposed to hold the opening day as soon as arrangements are sufficiently advanced to enable play to proceed.
