ANNUAL MEETING
MU. J. TOMBLESON ELECTED CHAIRMAN.
Meeting for tbe first time since the elections, the Gisborne Harbor Hoard, at tlie annual meeting yesterday, was called on to elect its chairman for the year. There were present Messrs. George Smith, T. Quirk, A. Steele. J. Tombleson, A. Wade, A. J. Nicol. T. Todd, \\ . 1). Bruce, H. J. E. Tombleson, r J’. Corson, J. 13. liroadliurst. A. 11. Wallis and Dr. J. C. Collins. Some twenty minutes were occupied in deciding, tirst. whether tbe secretary (Mr. H. A. Barton; or one of the members, as temporary chairman, should call for nominations, and, second, as to which member should iill the position temporarily, ultimately Mr. Wallis war, elected to the chair and called tor nominations for the permanent position as chairman. Mr Steele proposed Mr .f. Tombleson for the office of chairman tor me year. Mr. Todd seconded the motion. Mr. Quirk nominated Mr. Smith for the position, but there was no seconder. Mr. Tombleson was then declared elected, and took lus seat at the head of the table'., returning thanks for the honor paid him. Committees were elected as fuluw:— Advisory.— The whole board, five to form a quorum. Works.—Messrs. T. Todd. Geo. Plinth, A. J. Nicol. and A. Wade. Kina nee.—The chairman, and Messrs C. Id. Williams. J. 13. Brdadhurst. T. Quirk, A. li. Wallis, and Dr. J. Collins. Accounts.—The chairman, and Messrs. Corson. Nicol and Smith.
