Something seems to have interfered with Dame. Nellie Meba’s plan to join forces with Sir Thomas Beechaiii and his Imperial Opera League, says the Daily News. G -" r - ‘ '-■ Dame Nellie has informed the Paris correspondent of the Daily News that, for private reasons, she had finally decided not to participate actively in the Beoeham scheme, but not because she intended associating herself with any conflicting project. “I know nothing of it,” said l Sir Thomas,' when told of Melba’s decision. . “She promised. to help, but has'not done so. There has been no bust-up.”
