Amanullab. is making a determined bid for the Throne. He sent a big force with six guns from Kandahar to Kelati Gilzai, a town seventy miles from Kabul. En route they clashed' with tribesmen in the Mnisur district and there were heavy casualties on both sides. Abdul: Ali, brother of the exGovetnor of Kabul, is raising two thousand troops to support AniunalJah. ■ The Shwarts, who are against Amanullab, are threatening an attack on Dacca and Lalpura. Amanullab,’s planes are dropping leaflets in Kabul, urging the citizens to eject Baechasakaii. The opinion is generally expressed that, unless some strong leader appears, the country will immediately ho plunged into civil war.
