GISBORNE 1 AMATEUR CLUB

MEETING OP COMMITTEE.

The weekly meeting of the committee of the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Harr.or Club was held last evening, Air. W. Jenkins being, in the chair. There were also present Messrs A. H. Thorpe. A. C. Swan, H. Hutchinson, J. Algie J. Mercer, C. A. Remnant, E. C. Sutcliffe, H. F. I‘orster, and ,1 N. Fraser (lion. see.). A letter was ■received from the Napier Amateur Atldetic and Cvcl ng Club stating that their country (•lulls’ ehampioiishp would he held on Faster Monday, and inviting entices from Gisborne.—The letter was received, and it was decided to inform local athletes.

A sports programme was received from the Tikokino Sports Club for their meeting on Faster Saturday.—• The eonimuircation was received.

Correspondence was .received from the Sub-Centre and the Manutuko Sports Club in reference, to the Gis.borne ( lull’s refusal to grant Mautituke a permit for Faster Monday-. It was decided to defer to the SubCenfre's recommendation and grant the porin't. .The Napier (.'lull’s return visit to Gisborne on Saturday next was discussed, and the following programme was approved, nominnt on.s for whi#| will close with Air. It was resolved that nominations for handicap events be one shilling, and that w nners of ‘ scratch and handicap races receive certificates, ft was also decided to hold a dance in the City Hall in the- evening in honor of the v siting athletes.

It was resolved to hold the final distance of the Innes Cup race on Thursday evening, nominations to Close w.th Air. A. Hart on Wednesday evening at 3 o’clock. Tins will be the only event for that evening.

It was reported' that transportarrangements were well in band for the visit of lade members of the club to AYairoa on Saturday, March 23.

Successful competitors at the SubCentre championships are rem'mled that- certificates won at the meeting are- now available at Air. A. Hart’s cycle, shoo.

New members were elected as follows: J? H. Scott, A. Gi bertson, J. Melntvie, R. Cook, and Misses N. and M. Algie. A donat on c:f £1 was received from Mr. J. T. Herbert.-—ft was decided to write thanking the donor. Accounts amounting to £l-1 ]9s 3d were, passed for payment.
