News from Richmond (Virginia), states that nine, all or one family, were burned to death at the nearby town of Buekhannon. when a fire destroyed the home of Peter Fines, a miner. The victims! -included five children. Trov Gibson, husband of one of the victims, alone escaped, badly burned. It is stated that acan of powder caused the blaze.
