SHARKEY STRIBLINC M.ATCH WINNER MAY FIGHT DEMPSEY FOR CROWN United Press Assn, by El. Tel. CopyrightJUnited Service.) {Received Dec. 30, 11 p.m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 30. Tex Rickard has matched Sharkey and Stribling for February 27 at Miami Beach. The winner will probably meet Jack Dempsey for the championship. W. L. (“Young”) Stribling who is among those who are to be tested in the elimination contests for next world’s champion, seems 'to have been very busy. This year up to September he figured in 32 contests, winning the lot, and 27 by the short cut. This is claimed as*a record. In previous years it was noticeable that. the youngster, who is very good looking, was afraid of •having his clean-cut features knocked out of bloom. But with years it would appear as though he is gaining confidence. His record speaks that way anyhow* He was 24. years of age on Boxing Day.
