The most severe typhoon experienced in the Philippine Islands in years swept the southern Luzon Island, the gale at times reaching. a velocity of 70 miles an hour. The damage is estimated at millions of dollars. /Thirty per cent, of the coconut crop is reported to have bean destroyed. Legnispi .was decided and the Government "buildings damaged. Several small ships were wrecked at various points along the coast. Telegraph lines are severed, and wireless reports of the destruction are fragmentary.
