The Premier Mr. Mackenzie King, speaking at the Board of Trade, declared that his administration entered the diplomatic field not only to assume responsibility for Canada’s external affairs, hut also because he believed that consultation and cooperation with British ambassadors abroad would serve to broaden the base and secure more firmly the foundation upon which the British Empire Government- rested and make for British unity and its permanency, ns well as world peace.
