Nov. 19. “I have asked myself whether it is either possible or desirable to continue loyal service in the House of Commons in view of the appeal of my young family, who are aged between 7 and 14 years, when they are most susceptible to home influence,” said Mrs Philipson at a meeting of the Berwick Conervative executive. She added: “Frankly, it is impossible. Therefore, .1 am not contesting the general election.”
