OBITUARY.
MR WILLIAM MANSON. Another old settler of Poverty Bay of mature years, in the person of Mr William Manson, of Patutahi, has passed away. Mr Manson had resided in Patutahi for nearly 43 years, and was highly respected by the community. Born in England, Mr and Mrs Manson came to New Zealand in the Wave Queen, the voyage occupying 110 days. They came almost immediately to ■Gisborne, and Mr Manson commenced business as a carrier and contractor in the Palutahi district, carrying on business until his advancing age prevented bis continuance in active work. Mrs Manson predeceased her husband two years ago. and the blow had. a,_ serious effect on Mr Manson, whose healthy however, had been fairly good until recently.
The deceased leaves two sons and one da-ughter, all residents of Patutahi. The daughter is Miss FT. Atkins, and the song Messrs J. and W. ,T. Manson-
