The Commoners Sir Park Goff and Sir Robert Thomas waited two hours in the cold and fog outside the gates of Westminster until Big Ben struck midnight, for the King opens Parliament to-day and the Commoners were eager to be the first arrivals, but they dead-heated. The King’s Speech is expected to mention the Anglo-French agreement, reparations and unemployment, with special reference to Empire migration, new local government bills, with much remaining to be accomplished before the election in June.
