DIVIDED CABINET.
HKBTZOG’S RESIGNATION EXPECTED. MR. MADELEY COMPLAINS OF H UMILIATING CONDITIONS. Onlt«d Press Asbd. by El. Tel. Copyright (United Service.) CAPETOWN, November. 4. Mr Made Icy publishes a reply to General Hertzog, in a strongly-word-ed Jetter in which he complains of cavalier treatment, alleging that fie has been subjected to humiliating conditions, growing 'more marked and aggressive during recent months, and forcing upon him the conviction that such an attitude is only intended to make hi.s continuance as a member of Cabinet impossible. ft is expected that General Hertzog wll formally resign to-morrow, immediately re-i'orming the Cabinet without Mr Madeley. It is highly probable also that Colonei Creswell will be shortly offered the High Commissionership in London, Mr Snrit, the present holder ot that office, having agreed to return to South Africa to assume the administrationship of Transvaal province, rendered vacant by the expiry of Mr Hofmeyer’s term.
