COMING OF AGE PARTY. (Special to the Times.) TOKOMARU BAY. Oct. 31. On Monday, evening last Mr and Mrs Yeoman entertained a number of voting pimple at (heir home in honor uf the coming of age of Miss Grant. Games, dancing and competitions were the order of tho evening, the 'utter being won by Mrs Angus. Miss Margaret Angus and Mr M. Mirfiti. The party adjourned to tlie dining room, which was decorated with trifenias and Iceland poppies, where supper was served, the place of honor •m the table being given to a large birthday cake, made h v Mrs t Geo. Oates, Tlie hostess receiver! hoi' guests in a frock of black taffeta made with a scalloped hem of pink crepe de chine. Tho guest of honor was wearing a dainty frock of rose pink satin and georgette. On Tueylay afternoon, in the Masonic Hall a meeting, called'by Mrs C. Burdett, was held of nil ladies interested in providing an Xmas tree* for the children living between the Te Puka Hotel and Ongaruru.' There was a large attendance and. after some discussion, it was decided to provide an Xmas Tree and entertainment in the hall if possible, the last week before Christmas. A euchre party was arranged to be he'd next Wednesday evening in the Tc Puka Hall. PERSONAL. Miss Cushworth and Miss .Margaret Angus have returned from . a trip North. Miss Pepper has returned home from a holiday, in Thames. Mr J. L. Grant is at present holidaying in Christchurch. Nurse Bain is at present in charge of the Maternity Home in the absence of Nurse Morris, who has had to undergo a serious operation.
